On Tuesday 28 May we offer a complete contrast: Knights, Nuns and Sisters on the Run - with two writers of historic fiction, Prestwich-based author EM Powell, author of medieval murder mystery The Fifth Knight; and Deborah Swift, author of The Lady's Slipper and The Gilded Lily - a tale of runaway sisters in 1660s London. As well as reading from their own work, and answering questions, they will both be paying tribute to Beverley Hughesdon, another Prestwich author of four historic novels, who died last year. Beverley attented the beautiful red brick gothic St Hilda's Church on Whittaker Lane - so that's where this event is taking place. Tickets just £6 on the door at St Hilda's Church, Whittaker Lane, Prestwich M25 1HA. Some of the proceeds of ticket sales will go to restoring this historic building.
We have a signed copy of The Fifth Knight for you to win. Simply answer the following question:
Who was Henry II’s famous Queen?
Send your answer, plus your postal address to us via the contact form on this site by midday (GMT) on Tuesday 28 May. A winner will be picked at random later that day.
