- Alison Moore is author of The Lighthouse, which was shortlisted for the 2012 Man Booker Prize, and a collection whose title story 'The Pre-War House' won a New Writer novella prize. Her latest novel is He Wants.
- Emma Jane Unsworth is author of Hungry, The Stars and Everything, which won a Betty Trask Award, and Animals, which she is currently adapting into a screenplay.
- Richard Hirst is joint-winner of 2011 Manchester Fiction Prize for his story ‘School Report’.
