Award winning authors bring ghost stories to Prestwich

The longest night is traditionally the time to sit near a roaring fire and listen to ghost stories. So how better celebrate the closing in of the year than with stunning and eery tales from some of the country's best young writers in Prestwich's oldest and most haunted pub?
The Prestwich Book Festival is proud to host an evening with the authors behind The Longest Night, a limited edition, fully-illustrated anthology of original winter ghost stories. This will be an evening of live readings designed to unsettle and unnerve. The event, which takes place at the Church Inn (which was once, rather aptly, the local morgue) on Sunday 15th December and is free to attend, will see uncanny readings from:
The book also features a brand new story from Alison Moore, whose novel The Lighthouse was shortlisted for last year’s Man Booker Prize, and is fully illustrated by artist Beth Ward.
Copies of The Longest Night will be available at £5 on the night.
